{"id":16335,"date":"2024-02-22T16:46:12","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T00:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ackerman.sdsu.edu\/computational\/?page_id=16335"},"modified":"2024-02-22T16:46:12","modified_gmt":"2024-02-23T00:46:12","slug":"satisfactory-academic-progress","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ackerman.sdsu.edu\/computational\/student-handbook\/satisfactory-academic-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Satisfactory Academic Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Graduate students must meet all of the following criteria to maintain satisfactory progress:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advance to candidacy and complete the degree within limitations established by UCI\u2019s Graduate<br>Council.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive grades of B or better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enroll in at least 12 graduate or upper-division units of credit each quarter at UCI, or at least 9 units of graduate courses per semester at SDSU, including credit for supervised teaching and research, unless part-time status or an academic leave of absence has been approved in advance. In cases of approved part-time status, enrollment in eight 8 or fewer units of credit toward the degree is expected each quarter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Satisfactory progress towards the degree as determined by the student&#8217;s faculty advisor, committee, or academic unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: The professional judgment of the faculty, upon review of all graduate work undertaken by the student, is paramount, and the faculty of a particular academic unit may establish more restrictive criteria for satisfactory academic progress.
